IMPORTANT: Transportation Forms

Transportation Forms

Required forms for all students

To utilize bus services, parents MUST complete the form. August 3, 2025, is the deadline for students to have transportation on the first day of school.
Additionally, parents can specify whether their student will be a car rider, walker/biker, driver, or will use day care pickup/drop-off.

Important: Beginning of Year Forms

For the 2025-26 school year, all required Lamar Consolidated ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through the Skyward Family Access Center. This includes newly enrolled students.

Online forms are available through the Family Access Center starting July 28th and all forms need to be submitted no later than Sept. 12th. Your student’s schedule will not be available online through the Family Access Center until all of the beginning-of-year forms are completed for your student and after the campus has released schedules. Student schedules will be available online on Wednesday, Aug. 06th, if all online forms have been completed.

Instructions, important dates, a username/password reset button, and technical assistance regarding the online forms can be found by clicking here. For those who need access to a computer or the Internet, computers will be available on campus Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. starting July 28th.

If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please contact the school front office at 832-223-1700.

TX Law regarding personal communication devices

During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, House Bill 1481 was passed, prohibiting students from using personal communication devices during the school day and on school property. This change includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, radios, and similar devices.

The law applies to all Texas public and open-enrollment charter schools, including Lamar CISD. Exceptions are made for students with documented medical needs or special education accommodations.

What This Means for Lamar CISD Students (PK–12)

Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, Lamar CISD will implement the following practices in accordance with the new law:
  • All personal electronic devices, including cell phones and smartwatches, must be turned off before entering campus.
  • Devices must be stored in backpacks or lockers—not on the student’s person (e.g., clothing pockets)—and must remain powered off and completely out of view throughout the school day.
  • Use or visible possession of any personal communication device during the school day will result in confiscation and disciplinary consequences.

This includes all areas inside the school building such as:
  • Classrooms
  • Libraries
  • Cafeterias
  • Hallways
  • Restrooms
  • Locker rooms
  • Any other common spaces

Devices may be turned back on only after the final bell at dismissal, at which time students may use them to communicate with parents or guardians regarding transportation or other after-school needs.

Please note: Receiving a call or text from a parent or family member during class is not an acceptable reason for device use. If you need to reach your child during the school day, please call the school’s front office, and we will ensure your message is delivered.

Arrival Procedures

  • Hutchison parents will be allowed to walk students into the building for the 1st two days of school. Please park in assigned parking only.
  • First day of school only: Beginning at 6:45am, students will go straight to their classrooms or breakfast.
  • After the 1st day of school, students will be seated in the gym by grade level. Students will be escorted to the classroom by their homeroom teacher.
  • No registrations will be taken on Friday, August 8 or Monday, August 11.
  • Parents may visit for breakfast/lunch beginning September 2, 2025. Breakfast begins at 6:45. Parents must be checked in by 7:05 for breakfast.
  • All students will receive a ID tag, that must be worn at all times while on campus.
  • Car Riders - enter through the front doors
  • Bus Riders - enter through the bus ramp doors
  • Walkers/Bike Riders - ride along the sidewalk, place their bike on the rack, and enter through the front doors
  • Daycare - enter through the bus ramp doors after the buses

Dismissal Procedures

  • Be sure your child's teacher knows how your student is getting home on the first day of school. We will call to confirm transportation.
  • Transportation changes MUST be made before 2:00 PM. Please call the office at 832-223-1700 to make changes. Transportation change notifications are delivered to the classrooms at 2:00pm. Therefore, we cannot accept changes after 2:00 pm. If you want to check your child out early for appointments, that must be done by 2:00 pm as well. We will not release students for early pick up after 2:00 pm. This information is in the LCISD Student Handbook. Please try and keep the way your child goes home as consistent as possible. This decreases the likelihood of a mistake occurring.
  • Bus- LCISD Transportation is highly recommended for all students who are eligible. The buses are the first mode of transportation to leave each day. The buses will load and leave early the first 3 days of school. Parents are advised to arrive at the bus stops early on these days. Give your child’s bus a 15-minute window before and after the published time as drivers work to ensure everyone is accounted for and dropped off at the correct stop. PK and K students will only be released to an authorized adult listed in the MyStop. Please bring your ID to the bus stop on the first day for verification. MyStop will be scanned each time your child gets on and off the bus, for lunch meals in the cafeteria, and in the library for checking out books.
  • Daycare pickup - Rosters will be checked daily. Please ensure your child's teacher knows the correct daycare name. Gingerbread is available on campus for after school care.
  • Car riders - Please place your car tag on the rear view mirror of your vehicle. Students will NOT be released without the car tag decal. Parents without the car tag will be asked to park and retrieve their student from the front office.
  • Walkers/Bikers – PK/K students will be released to a parent/guardian only. Parents are not allowed to walk up to the school to meet your children. Please meet them at the stop sign on the corner of Ransom Road & Richmond Parkway. If your child is a walker, you are saying that they are responsible enough to get home on their own without adult assistance. If they have older/younger siblings that they will walk home with, please communicate that information to the teachers as well.
